BALLOT REGULATIONS
1. How the entry ballot works
This document sets out how the ballot works for the EDP Lisbon Half Marathon 2027.
2. Application period
The ballot application period opens on April 23, 2026 and closes on May 19, 2026.
During this period, all interested runners may apply online. There is no advantage in applying at the beginning or at the end of the application period.
Applying for the ballot is free. No payment card is required. Only selected participants will be charged at the time of registration.
3. Closing and processing of applications
After the application period closes, all submitted applications will be included in the ballot.
4. The ballot
The ballot consists of a random selection of participants for the EDP Lisbon Half Marathon 2027.
5. Notification of selected runners
The ballot will be conducted, and the results will be communicated as soon as possible. To ensure all applications are properly validated, this may take a few weeks, so there is no need to worry.
Selected applicants will receive an email with instructions on how to complete their registration and payment in order to secure their place.
Both selected and non-selected applicants will be informed by email once the ballot process has been completed.
6. Registration confirmation
Once payment has been made within the indicated deadline, the registration will be confirmed.
If a selected applicant does not complete registration and the corresponding payment, the entry will be cancelled.
7. Important information
Application fee
Applying to the ballot is free of charge. Only selected applicants who complete registration will be required to pay the race entry fee.
Minimum age
Only participants who are 18 years old or older on race day may register for and take part in the EDP Lisbon Half Marathon 2027.
Group applications
Each applicant may register one or two additional runners, for a maximum of three participants in total. If one runner in the application is selected in the ballot, the others will also be selected so they can race together.
For group applications, each participant's details must be different, namely the contact email. If the group is selected, each candidate will receive by email the information needed to complete their registration. Group applications using the same contact email are not accepted.
SuperVoucher holders
SuperVoucher holders, runners who purchased combined entries for five SuperHalf races in the past, do not need to enter the ballot. Holders of a SuperVoucher still to be used for the EDP Lisbon Half Marathon must contact the organisation by email at info@maratonaportugal.com.
8. Schedule
- Ballot applications open on April 23, 2026.
- The application period will last approximately 4 weeks, closing on May 19, 2026.
- After the application period closes, the organisation will run a random draw to select the applicants who will gain access to registration.
- Selected applicants will be notified by email, with a link to complete their registration, and will have three days to do so, including payment. Selected applicants who do not complete their registration and payment within this period will lose their place.
